In the city's historic center, noteworthy landmarks include Praça da República, Largo de Santa Maria, Arcos dos Prazeres, Rua Aresta Branco, Rua dos Infantes, Rua do Touro, Rua da Guia, Rua dos Pintores, Rua Manuel de Arriaga, Rua da Ancha, and Rua Abel Viana. Numerous monuments of great architectural and heritage value can be admired here.

The set of the Citadel of Cascais includes the Forte de Nossa Senhora da Luz, the Torre de Santo António de Cascais and fortified everywhere between the tip of the Salmodo and Clube Naval de Cascais. Had the Defense function of this part of the coast, access point to the capital. Currently, it is here the summer residence of the President of the Republic, the Municipal Museum of Cascais, the Anti-aircraft Artillery instruction Center and the coast and the Naval Radio of Cascais.

Located at the Alcântara centre, it was one of the rare constructions that stood the earthquake of 1755. The palace has beautiful gardens, where you may enjoy a vast collection of exotic plants. Right in front of this building there is a fountain. It was a royal residence until the beginning of the XX century (almost all the Portuguese kings lived here), when the monarchy was abolished in Portugal. In 1910, the palace saw its precious art collections divided by several museums.

Founded in 1540, this convent features of various eras. In this monument are the main façade, the taste, the filipino side, with its three-story portico, (being the last Baroque, with pediment crowned by the Royal shield). A special attention to the balcony of Kings, five arches Gallery to the left side of the portico, the two cloisters and the interior, with three naves, with all its decoration. Currently, works here the Municipal Museum Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso.

Civil construction from the 17th century, with ten balcony windows, interrupted by the coat of arms of the Mattos e Silva family and by a niche where the image of Queen Saint Isabel appears, alluding to the passage of Dom Dinis' wife through this town who spent the night in a building where this house was later built. During the French invasions, it was the headquarters of the Portuguese-English troops, and the Duke of Wellington and General Beresford stayed here.

Modern golf course, located in a calm and pleasant area in the outskirts of Lisbon. Offers the "Club discovery", a species of ATL that sensitizes children to the practice of golf; a restaurant and a bar with terrace. Designed by architect Gary Grandstaff, the field has a nine-hole course: seven 3 pairs and two pairs 4. Here, you have at your disposal single and double Buggies, driving range, as well as manual Trolleys and trams.

The former Misericórdia Church of Mértola houses the first municipal museum of sacred art. This space, known as Porta da Ribeira, presents a unique collection of images and liturgical artefacts from hermitages and chapels of popular worship. Here, the different nuances of humanity's relationship with various references to the sacred are reconstructed, with the exhibition of sacred art from the 14th to 18th centuries, liturgical artefacts, including chalices and processional crosses, and painted tablets.

Library that assembles about 26 thousand volumes of the work of Dulce Ferrão, important journalist, writer and historian. This cultural space also has a complete bibliographic selection about contemporary Portugal, with special attention to the history of the 1st Republic, Estado Novo and Colonial War. Other works of reference about themes such as the French Revolution, the world wars or the great classics of national and foreign literature can also be consulted here.

This chapel is dated from 1672 and it is composed by two distinct bodies. The simple façade does not denunciate the artistic richness on its inside. Here it is possible to find one of the most important repositories of sacra art in the city and a joint of beautiful glazed tiles composed by historian panels from 1698 done by the painter Gabriel del Barco. The church body is covered by baroque carving and glazed tiles from the 18th century.

This Romanic church has a perfectly volte doorway and a rectangular main chapel, probably built by the Count Dom Henrique. This Monument has a rather high symbolism not only for its historical connection to the period in which the Nationality was founded, but also because traditionally here Dom Afonso Henriques was baptised. The main façade includes a doorway with two archivolts and a flat tympanum. On the inside there are some warrior graves that were connected to the Nationality foundation.
