In this space, housed in a former sugar mill founded in 1822, you will learn about the history of the paper industry. The collections encompass the entire municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, where the paper industry has been a fundamental driver of the economy since 1708. In addition to artifacts and machinery, the watermark exhibition will highlight the different types of watermarks created by paper manufacturers in the Santa Maria region. Santa Susana is a typical village of the Alentejo region, with ground floor small houses, painted in white with a blue bar and big chimneys. Built over a century ago, they lodged farm workers temporarily and they eventually stayed in the place. Nowadays, it is a peaceful village of the Alentejo where one can savour the local gastronomy and become acquainted with the region's craftswork.

The Vinhais Biological Park aims to preserve, promote and interpret the typical region landscape, offering outdoor experiences such as hiking, donkey rides, wildlife observation and sporting activities. In addition to being a Park, it is also a natural reserve, promoting the protection of the region's fauna and flora, an ecomuseum, conserving and promoting traditional architecture and crafts, and a monument to local culture.

The Rurality Museum has three exhibition areas: a temporary exhibition area (where objects representing the region's rural life are on display), a temporary exhibition area (occupied by a blacksmith's workshop and some miniature agricultural implements) and the Orality Center, where it is possible to consult various documentation of the region's intangible heritage, with emphasis on the Castro Fair and the Campaniça guitar.

The Douro Museum was created in 1997 to promote this demarcated region and its economic and wine-producing heritage. Housed in a former manor house, it brings together other museums throughout the country to better promote the region. In addition to the various exhibitions it hosts, it also promotes other cultural activities, and is the only museum in the country with a resident string quartet.

The Betica Rural Hotel owes its name to its location on the left bank of the Guadiana river, a region that was part of the ancient province of the Roman Empire, Hispania Baetica. This old manor house of architectural features guard Sinks and decorative elements, alluding to the region, which combined with the modernity they dive the visitor in the Alentejo spirit in absolute comfort.

The Mountain belongs to the Old Massif to the South of the Tejo and occupies the regions of Grândola and Santiago do Cacém. It has its highest peak at the Cume da Atalaia whre one can find the imposing ruins of the Church of Our Lady of Livramento. From the mountain one can view the ocean and the planes of the Alentejo region. It is 20 km long.

A typical restaurant whose decor includes paintings of monuments from the region. It feature regional specialities and game dishes during the hunting season. It is alsoa barbecue house. Some dishes have to be pre-ordered, namely the "cozido à portuguesa", the "borad beans à moda da casa", the "pica-no-chão rice" or the boar with chestnuts.

Located on the left bank of the Douro River, directly facing Oporto's Ribeira (riverside), the Gaia Ribeira is a lively area, most especially during the summer. The tourists do not resist the temptation of a walk on this side of the river and of visiting the Port Wine Cellars. The Cais de Gaia, a space that includes many bars and restaurants with lovely terraces near the banks is more recent.

During this walk a visit is recommended to the following places: the gothic Church of Castelo (Castle/Saint Maria of Anunciação), the belevedere of the Alto do Cruzeiro, with views of Lourinhã and Areia Branca, the Convent of Saint António, the Museum of Lourinhã, the Monument to the Battle of Vimeiro, the Beach of Porto Dinheiro, the shellfish beds of the shellfish house Frutos do Mar and the ruins of the Paimogo Fortress.
