The building conserves the lancet doors and it is surrounded by a porch. On the façade left side there is the bell ringer tower. On the inside it presents a nave wrapped in glazed tiles under the “carpet” type, from 1681 standing out, also, the remaining glazed tiles coverage that decorates the church. The Manueline main chapel possesses an ample lancet arch and crossed vault.

Manueline gateway with straight lintel, garnished by canopied arch framed by perfect curve arches. Coming from a house in the historic centre of Beja, it documents the popularization of the ornamental manueline lexicon at Baixo Alentejo during the beginning of the XVI century. It stands out for its richness in decoration, showing an exuberant taste that made the school of the manueline architecture in Beja.

Afterwards, during the XX century the building was transformed into flats and rooms for rent. On the inside we can stand out the baroque tiles from the Pombaline period.

The exhibition "The Essence of Form" showcases the numerous ceramic tile projects carried out by Manuel Cargaleiro throughout his artistic life. Its aim is to promote the work of Manuel Cargaleiro and contemporary art in general, through temporary exhibitions and the development of educational activities.
