The fortress stands on the eastern spur of Serra da Arrábida, from which you can see an extensive landscape from Sines to Sintra. Its main points of interest are the entrance, the 17th century walls, the convent of the Order of Santiago, the church of Santiago, from the 15th century, the Paços de D. Jorge, the turrets, the 14th century keep, the ruins of the church of Santa Maria, the parade ground and several portals. There is also the Castle Nucleus, one of the museum spaces of the Palmela Municipal Museum.

Small temple built in the 16th century that underwent profound changes in the 18th century, featuring baroque interior decoration. With just one nave, the ceiling is covered with coffers with golden frames, painted with biblical motifs from the Old Testament. It is worth highlighting the fact that it preserves an image from the 16th century. The two polychromatic carved altarpieces and the walls of the chancel covered with tiles from the 17th/18th centuries deserve attention. It stands out for the quantity and quality of the baroque decoration inside.

The Hotel of Blackberries is deployed in a building dating from the late 19TH century, with a modesty and quiet environment, conducive to rest. It was built from Baptista Diniz family farm, along with a small palace dating from 1905. In 2004 was turned into tourist drive, taking advantage of an old farmhouse, which recovered the main building. A new wing was added, where the 33 rooms in which the modern furniture fits together with Brown schist walls, a harmonious contrast with the remaining white walls.

The farm, with 70 hectares of vineyards, is used for residential and tourist purposes, for residential and commercial tourism, as it exports and sells Vintage Port and red and white wines that bear the name of the farm. The manor is a large and elegant building from the beginning of the 18th century superimposed on a building from the 15th/16th century of which traces can still be found. It is, in fact, the Clock Tower of Santarém and was erected in the 15th century on top of a tower within the walled enclosure of the old medieval town. It is one of the city's best-known buildings, and its popular name, Torre das Cabaças (Tower of the Gourds), comes from the clay gourds used to amplify the sound of the imposing bronze bell dating from 1604.
