It is on the way to Colmeal da Torre that you can find this enigmatic building of Roman origin, classified as a National Monument since 1927. There are several theories and legends linked to this rectangular building with three floors, whose initial function remains undefined, but which was possibly integrated into a Roman villa. One of these legends maintains that it was a prison with 100 cells, where Saint Cornelius, who formerly also named it, would have been imprisoned.

Located 25 kilometers from the town center is this monument of probable Arab origin. Rebuilt after the 1531 earthquake, it features an interesting sculpture above the main gate, where three castles and an eagle are visible. After assuming great defensive importance, it lost its usefulness over the years, and only between 1941 and 1954 did it undergo renovations that gave it its current appearance, with two towers. It served as a prison during the Middle Ages.

Convento e Igreja de São Francisco

Built in the 13th century to house the mendicant order of San Francisco, it underwent several renovations in the following centuries, with the Mannerist façade dating back to 1635. In the second half of the 19th century, in the convent area, it was built the Military Hospital and, later, the Duke of Bragança Asylum. Among the various 18th century altarpieces it has, the one in the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição stands out, in which some rocaille applications are notorious.

Mannerist temple built between the 16th and 19th centuries, settling on the remains of a small town whose name would be Arannis, a Roman agglomeration in the 5th or 6th centuries CE. Presents a longitudinal plan consists of a nave, a chancel and adossadas, the chapel of San Miguel, the baptistery, two storage rooms and the sacristy. Inside, it has a perfect round triumphal arch, flanked by pilasters based altars with polychrome and gilded carved altarpieces.
