Casa do Lavre is a property built on a rise of the village consisting of a Manor House from the early 20th century, whose architecture has inspired the Nobel Prize for literature, writer José Saramago, in his work "Lifted off the ground". In this space, four beautiful rooms and a bridal suite charming deprive with lounges, private dining room for groups of 8 to 10 people, library, flowered courtyard and breakfast room. The Miller's House is a Rural tourism unit with two cottages, one with capacity for eight people and one for four people. Also known as the Albertas Garden or Rocha do Conde de Óbidos Garden, it is framed in a set of ancient buildings, such as the Hospitalários Convent of São João de Deus, presently occupied by the GNR, the Conde de Óbidos-Sabugal Palace, presently the headquarters of the Red Cross and the Ancient Art Museum. The garden has a belvedere offering a panoramic view of the river. From this point, the going down to the 24 de Julho Avenue is done through an imposing double staircase, all covered with climbing plants, built in 1880-1882.

It was once the Feira do Livro (bookseller's fair) and the Festas Sanjoaninas (Saint John’ popular festivities) this garden surrounded by trees is the ex libris of the Boavista area. At the centre rises the “Monumento de Homenagem aos heróis da Guerra Peninsular” (monument in honour of the peninsular war heroes), planned by the sculptor Alves de Sousa and the architect Marques da Silva. It is a huge granite column, 45 meters height, with a peninsular lion slaughtering a Napoleonic eagle on the top. This place is usually called Rotunda da Boavista.

Estamos na presença de um solar tipicamente beirão, que foi aparecendo na sua beleza e austeridade granítica ao longo dos séculos, perdendo - se na memória a sua primeira pedra.
