This monument, dated from 1757, was built by the Brotherhood of the Senhor Jesus dos Navegantes and Nossa Senhora da Caridade, from the Esperança Convent. The building on Avenida da Boavista has an Art Nouveau architecture. This building stands out on view decor that combined with the metallic structures confer a remarkable consistency. The temple belonged to a former Franciscan convent. The access is done through a six flight staircase, sided by six chapels, presenting sculptures descriding the life of Christ. From the churchyard you may view the city and close villages, the Mondego River, serras and valleys.

The top of this mountain, which is the result of former central volcano where lava domes, some evident we can enjoy wonderful views of the entire island. It is here that we find the highest peak on the island, the Pico Timão, about 400 meters of altitude.

Located next to the Sagres Fortress, the sand becomes narrow due to the morphology of the area, with many pebbles and traces of cliff collapses.
