This is the first power station built in Portugal, dating from the 20TH century. It lies on the river Alva, getting water into a channel and returning it to the river.

This statue was built to pay tribute to respected Portuguese magistrate José Estevão. Made in 1886 by Simões de Almeida, it is one of the best examples of the XIX century statuary. It was opened in 1889.

Manor House that, in 1930, received the first Azorean typography. Today is the official residence of the Prime Minister of the Republic. It is a typical House of the higher areas of the Portuguese cities of the Islands.

The Roman House was the first museum section of the Mértola Museum to open in 1989. It is located in the basement of the City Hall building. During renovation work, important archaeological remains corresponding to the foundations of a Roman house (today it serves as the main building) emerged. In addition to the walls of the old building, where part of the house's impluvium stands out, period architectural elements, funerary epigraphy, ceramics, and metalwork are on display. Each section has a permanent exhibition related to its theme.

Stage of bullfighting and centrepieces with around 4500 places, the Bullring of Alcácer is classified as private first class. João Branco Núncio, son of Earth, gives its name to this place of worship and tradition. There are two races of bulls that are held captive, one in June, at the time of the fair Pimel and another in early October, at the New Fair of Alcácer.
