The Oliva Art Center is an exhibition and collection management center created in 2013 as part of the project to reconvert one of the most symbolic industrial buildings in São João da Madeira - the Oliva factory and foundry. From its origin, the Art Center houses two large private collections: the Norlinda and José Lima Collection, one of Portugal's largest private collections of contemporary art; and the Treger / Saint Silvestre art brut and singular art collection, one of the largest of its kind in the Iberian Peninsula.

Ponta de São Lourenço is a peninsula classified as a Partial Natural Reserve, and the islet of Desembarcadouro as an Integral Natural Reserve, both integrated into the Madeira Natural Park and on the list of Sites of Community Interest in the Natura 2000 Network. It consists of some volcanic hills of recent origin and steep and very high rocky cliffs that fall steeply into the sea, featuring some caves and pebble coves. This is one of the most beautiful gardens on the Madeira Island, located about 5 km from the city center of Funchal. It occupies an area of 70000 m2 and is reforested with exotic plants from several continents. You can see cycads and proteas from South Africa, heather from Scotland, or redwoods from America. The vegetation mixes with ponds full of Koi fish, providing a spectacle of beauty and color. The alleys of the Garden are full of tile panels from the 16th and 20th centuries. Os ovos-moles são um doce conventual feito à base de ovos e açúcar. Para além do doce, são um símbolo turístico da cidade de Aveiro. Podem ser apresentados em pequenas miniaturas (barricas de madeira) ou também em caixas (envolvidos em hóstia) ou porcelanas com imagens alusivas à Ria de Aveiro. É, atualmente, um dos poucos doces portugueses com estatuto de Indicação Geográfica Protegida (IGP).
