The construction of the Church of Atei probably dates back to the 14th century, featuring late Romanesque architecture. In the 16th century, a chapel was added to it, by order of the Counts of Cantanhede. Later, in the 19th century, other chapels and the main chapel were added to it, giving it its current appearance. Inside, the 19th century altars stand out, with gilded and painted carvings, in a neoclassical style.
