During the Restoration War, this fortification suffered several Castilian attacks and was severely damaged. This church, built probably in the 18th century, has undergone successive renovations throughout the centuries, especially in the interior, as can be seen by the diversity of decorating styles. Inside the cover of the ship with neoclassical painting, the chancel, with 32 hagiographic themed caissons and the altarpiece-mor of polychrome and gilded carving of the Johannine Baroque style. Already the angled side altarpieces, polychrome and gilded carvings also are in the Rococo style.
