The fortress stands on the eastern spur of Serra da Arrábida, from which you can see an extensive landscape from Sines to Sintra. Its main points of interest are the entrance, the 17th century walls, the convent of the Order of Santiago, the church of Santiago, from the 15th century, the Paços de D. Jorge, the turrets, the 14th century keep, the ruins of the church of Santa Maria, the parade ground and several portals. There is also the Castle Nucleus, one of the museum spaces of the Palmela Municipal Museum.

This urban ensemble denotes the medieval character of this village. It is entirely surrounded by walls and has an urban structure that extends from the citadel, entrances, and parade grounds. Of the six gates and posterns cut into the walls, the Porta da Vila stands out, with its chapel oratory, balcony, and attached staircase, all covered in tiles. Built in the 16th century, the palace is a Manueline building located in the north wing of the castle. By the 17th century, the castle was already damaged, a situation exacerbated by the 1755 earthquake, and it was subsequently rebuilt.

It is a fortified mound, dominating vast horizon, endowed with water supply infrastructure and showing walls with two concentric levels. The Roman road with the vestiges of the Moorish Fountain and a tomb excavated in the rock, near the Church Santa Maria del Jarmelo, the area of St. Peter's Church, cemetery and belfry and casa da câmara, two graves dug into the rock and the land that comprises the Church of San Miguel and two sources of diving. Reveals occupations from the iron age to Medieval times.

Close to the Quartel das Esquadras, the Town Hall of Almeida operates in a historic and emblematic building, dating from the 18th century and which previously housed the Former Body of the Main Guard. With a Neoclassical style, it is the last military building built from scratch for military purposes in Almeida. On the main façade, the three arches framed by pilasters stand out, as well as the triangular pediment, which integrates the royal arms. These show the shield surrounded by acanthus and baroque shells, supported by warlike elements.

O cabrito assado é por toda a Beira Interior um prato com grande tradição. A carne tem aliás o uso da Identificação Geográfica Protegida (IGP) que obriga que seja produzida de acordo com regras obedecendo a padrões de elevada qualidade. A carne apresenta uma cor rosa-pálida, tenra e com gosto suave a aleitado, uma vez que são quase exclusivamente alimentados de leite materno.

O figurado, instrumento usado para retratar épocas e tempos, é uma das artes mais populares de Barcelos, assim como o trabalho com o barro. Para além destas formas de arte, a cerâmica é uma boa fonte de rendimento económico para a região. Este centro de artesanato divulga o que de melhor se faz por Barcelos, cheio de simbolismo e tradições.

A rosca de Pão Doce ou de folar, como também é conhecido, começou por ser feito na Páscoa, em fornos a lenha das casas agrícolas onde era cozida a tradicional broa de milho. Passou a ser oferecido como Folar aos afilhados que, em domingo de Páscoa, visitavam os padrinhos. A tradição ainda hoje impera nas freguesias de Labruge, Mindelo, Modivas, Vila Chã e Vilar.

The golf course of Quinta das Lágrimas has nine holes but features all the difficulties of the short game, with a total length of 363 metres and a sand bunker. Offers driving range with 35 outgoing rugs, covered and uncovered, with night illumination and grass area to hit balls. The putting green has nine holes with relief and chipping green two target holes. Also offers indoor game room and club-house. The younger ones can still attend golf school.

This was the first golf course in Madeira, built in 1937 and then redesigned in 1991 by the famous golf architect Robert Trent Jones. Overlooking Machico Bay, it has three courses, each with two par-5s, two par-3s and five par-4s. The "Machico" and "Desertas" courses are those usually used during the Madeira Open, while the "Serras" course, gently flat, maintains the level of play. Santo da Serra hosts the Madeira Open annually, a tournament integrated into the PGA European Tour.

The result of a protocol signed between the City Council and the University of the Azores, this museum is organized with a central space, the Municipal Museum, and three museum centers integrated into the community: the Olaria museum center, the Forno de Loiça and the Fábrica da Luz museum center. Here you can see pottery objects, ceramics, learn about traditional arts and crafts and appreciate a collection of traditional vessels from the Azores. It also works as a research center in the areas of Archaeology, Ethnography and History.
