Here, at the Mesquita site, José Vicente de Brito, a São Paulo poet, was born and lived. In his memory, a verse of his was placed in Poço Velho. The site honors the poet, who died in 1957.

Built in the 14th century, it was only in 1562 that the church became sacred. It was remodeled over the centuries, with Renaissance and Baroque details in the side chapels. At the beginning of the 20th century, its demolition was planned, but it survived as a prison and, from 1920, it was transferred to Companhia Leiriense de Moagens.

Situated a few metres from the beach and the commercial space, the House Gandhi offers rooms, studios and apartments fully equipped. The space outside the House, consisting of a large garden with swimming pool, playground and barbecue, it's great to relax on sunny days. Extra fee may apply for airport transport service.
