Ancient park, occupied since 1635 by the Capuchin friars, which offers a romantic and peaceful atmosphere, in addition to several botanical rarities. In this park are the Baroque Church of the Third Order of São Francisco and the 17th century chapel of Nossa Senhora das Vitórias. It also has a children's library, a tennis court, a playground and an area for extreme sports.

One of King Carlos' favorite hunting grounds, the Tapada de Vila Viçosa, would come to be managed by the Fundação da Casa de Bragança. In 1981, the General Directorate of Forests bought 269 of the approximately 1200 hectares of the tapada. Many animal species can be seen there, such as the Iberian lynx, the golden eagle, the black stork and the black vulture.

Former enclosed field of a farm with a convent that the earthquake destroyed. Nowadays it is a set of gardens and preserve, rich in exotic vegetation. The Casa do Regalo with the lakes, greenhouses, Virtues statue and the bust of Dom João V stands out. Integrated in this area is the Palácio das Necessidades, classified as Public Interest Monument and where the Foreign Office is set.

The longest river in the Iberian Peninsula, with 1009 kilometres. It starts in Spain, more precisely in Albarracim, at an altitude of 1593 metres, and flows to the Atlantic Ocean. Its estuary has around 262 sqaure kilometres, in the area of São Julião da Barra. It borders Spain in an extension of 50 kilometres. It has several tributaries, which lends it specificity and beauty.

The longest river that rises and flows into the national territory (232 km) meets the sea in the city of Figueira da Foz, a fishing port and also a place for beaches, casino and tourism. The final section of the Mondego River runs between rice paddies, to finally meet the Atlantic Ocean. The river is "defended" on the right bank by the Santa Catarina Fort.

The "Parque de Lazer da Seroa" (Seroa's Leisure Park) has more than 16000 square metres of a green and pleasant area. It has a lake where one can ride "gaivotas", a children's playground, a bandstand for music and theatre shows, a bar and several maintenance trails. Water is essential and permanent throughout the park that is crossed by three wooden bridges.

This is one of the many lagoons on the island of Flores. It belongs to the group of Seven Lagoons that were formed in seven volcanic craters caused by the eruptions that gave rise to the island. The remaining lagoons in this group are Lagoa Branca, Lagoa Comprida, Lagoa Rasa, Lagoa da Lomba, Lagoa Negra and Lagoa Seca. It is surrounded by mountains and Laurissilva forests, which give it a unique environment.

A place where olive oil, wine, and cereal production, small businesses, and pastoralism are prominent. Among its architectural heritage, the most notable monuments are the Roman bridge (a National Monument), the Roman dam, the chapel of St. Sebastian, the chapel of Senhor da Ladeira, the old town hall building, and the jail. Crafts include cork, lace, and oak chairs.

Cabeço das Cabras constitutes the final frontier between the adventurous who set out for the mountain and the more fearful who prefer the safety of the road. Located at an altitude of approximately 1,200 meters, on the western slope of Pico Mountain, it is the highest point on the island accessible by car. From here, one can see the entire island of Faial and the vast blue sea.
