O Retiro do Escova, em Santiago do Cacém, fica num piso térreo de uma casa tradicional, branca e debruada a amarelo, e apresenta-se com uma decoração simples, moderna e elegante, a contrastar com a tradição gastronómica que apresenta na carta. A mistura resulta, melhor ainda depois de provar uns cogumelos como entrada, e um dos pratos fixos, diários que há à escolha. Divida-se então entre as migas com carne de porco, os lombinhos de porco preto com migas de tomate ou a solha frita com açorda de ovas.
