This pillory dated from the 16th century it is formed by a granite column settled above square steps. On its base there is a closed head sustained by small columns, it makes part of the mediaeval architecture joint composed by Ameada Tower and Fountain.

Also called the Recolhimento do Amparo, it was founded by Queen Catarina and rebuilt by Dom José. The main façade of the building is covered with white squared stone.
