Close to the Quartel das Esquadras, the Town Hall of Almeida operates in a historic and emblematic building, dating from the 18th century and which previously housed the Former Body of the Main Guard. With a Neoclassical style, it is the last military building built from scratch for military purposes in Almeida. On the main façade, the three arches framed by pilasters stand out, as well as the triangular pediment, which integrates the royal arms. These show the shield surrounded by acanthus and baroque shells, supported by warlike elements.

This church is in honour to Tomar city Patron Saint: Santa Iria. The present church resulted from the improvements done on the 16th century, standing out the fifteen hundreds door and a lateral chapel from João de Castilho. In this chapel stands out the stone altarpiece and the renaissance decoration (two Indian busts are quite remarkable). The altar, in Ançã stone, is attributed to João de Ruão. Open since 2011 in the parish of Peraboa, it allows visitors to learn about the manufacturing process of the famous Serra da Estrela cheese, one of the hallmarks of this region. Through a route enriched with 2D and 3D projections, visitors discover everything involved in the production of Serra cheese, from how it was made in the past to modern methods. At the end, there is a cheese tasting.

In its interior, the baroque and rococo tiles of the palace area and, in the main chapel, the tiles and carvings of the epoch of Dom João stand out.
