Small white sand beach with plenty of shade and some support facilities such as restaurant and children's playground. Provides practice canoeing, waterskiing and wakeboarding.

Beach located ten minutes away by car from Funchal city centre. It has two small beaches of sand and one with shingles, called Arieiro. It has Blue flag and is watched by a team of lifeguards. It is an attractive spot because it offers many sports practice and a lively nightlife. It has three healthcare assistance posts, WC, playground for children from 2 to 12, car park and locker rooms.

A beach that belongs to the Natura 2000 network. It is surrounded by the Gelfa National Woods, it has sand dunes and quite beautiful landscapes.

A wide, easily accessible beach, its wide stretch of sand is sheltered from the strong north winds and ends on a cliff to the south. Quite attended by surfers. Everey year it welcomes a competition of the World Bodyboard Championship and yet another of the Surf European Championship. Those who dislike the sea turbulence, may choose the sea water pool. On the surrounding cliffs there are pedestrian trails with wonderful landscapes. It has a first aid post, high quality restaurants, several terraces with many youngters and lively evenings.

A very beautiful beach, surrounded by trees and low vegetation. It is one of the largest beaches in the country and has a high influx of bathers, characterized by large waves and strong winds, often hosting international surfing, bodyboarding and windsurfing competitions. Here you will find nice bars with excellent terraces and restaurants specializing in fish and seafood.

A beach with low cliffs, calm waters and a good quality, attended mostly by Portuguese tourists. It has a small restaurant with high prices.

A pleasant, very lively beach. There is a club of retired people where they play chess and cards. There are some restaurants and street liveliness.
