Square located in the center of Penalva do Castelo, surrounded by small trees, with a small iron fence, some wooden benches, artificial lighting, a monument to the discoveries and a bandstand in the center. Here you will also find the Mother Church of Penalva do Castelo.

Located near the town of Espinhal, we find this 25 meter high waterfall. The stream that gives rise to it is known for its enormous wealth of trout, and also for the fact that it contains watermills and a wine press. This area features interesting and varied picturesque places.

Small beach between the cliffs, that owes its name to a shepherd who lived here. To get here you may take a boat, go down the cliff or, if there is low water, you find an access through the Barranco de Canas beach.

With a curious name, derived from a plant with small yellow flowers, Fajã dos Cubres, also known as Fajã de Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, is one of the most beautiful and exotic fajãs on the island. The lagoon with the same name is a must-see. It's where fishermen collect shrimp for grouper fishing.

Formerly designated forest reserve of Fazenda de Santa Cruz, located about 250 meters of altitude. With about three hectares, is intended to repopulate and maintain populations of trout of six ponds and eight streams of the island. It also has a variety of exotic birds, as well as several species of trees and shrubs.

Fortress built in the second half of the 17th century. Initially was the city's gunpowder store (intended for all forts and towers on the island) and used to defend the city from corsair attacks, also functioning as a prison. From the mid-twentieth century, it was handed over to the navy, which installed the Armada Communications Center there.

This fort, built by Philip III in 1603, is located on Pessegueiro Island, south of Porto Covo. During the Restoration War, this fortification suffered several Castilian attacks and was severely damaged. At the end of the 17th century, during the reign of King Pedro II, a new fort was built, which currently lies in ruins.

This area of the parish of Seixal covers a portion of the vast area of laurisilva, Madeira's original forest that currently occupies 22% of the island's surface. It is characterized by a humid subtropical climate and large trees, mainly laurel, whitewood and cedar, constituting an ecosystem of high importance. It is classified as a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO.
