A pedestrian walk that is about 8 km long and has eight stops is offered by the Ecomuseum. During the walk, one gets to know the regional natural and cultural heritage. It departs from the main square at Rates.

The Arrimal lagoons are surrounded by calcareous wells. The Lagoa Pequena (Small Lagoon), located by Arrimal, gets the water from its own basin. Both lagoons are surrounded by pyrenean oaks, a species that is rare in this region.

Inserted in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, it is only possible to reach this naturist beach through Praia do Barril. The most typical way to get there is by taking a tourist train, but you can also walk.

Ideal space to get to know some of the region's gastronomy, whose specialties may include: lamb stew, grilled black pork soup or grilled bass sarapatel. Good wine list, with highlight to the Alentejo.

Located on the northwestern slope of the mountain range, this village preserves a large number of thatched-roofed houses made of loose stone. The 18th-century main church and the 12th-century memorial are noteworthy. Traditional costumes are still worn today.

It has been known as Colonial Garden, later as Overseas Garden and still as Tropical Agricultural Garden. Today it is one of the most pleasant green spaces of Lisbon, with more than 500 species of tropical and subtropical flora in gardens and greenhouses.

Among the remnants of this ancient convent, its ruined portal is the most important element. It's a broken archway, of religious architecture, having belonged to the Franciscans and the Templars.
