The Areaias Farm is located where there once was the Furamontes Farm or Casal of the Chapel, dating back to the 18th century. A special not to the "caseiro" (the man in charge) house, a granit cross that signals the place of a very old chapel (1758) devoted to Our Lady of Pilar. The Oporto Town Hall acquired it on 1937 and installed the Municipal Orchards there (among the finest in the country) with very important vegetal species.
