The small town of Belmonte is located on a hill, on the east slope of the Estrela Mountain, by the Cova da Beira and the Zêzere River. The romanesque church of Saint Tiago and the castle stand out in its urban medieval set, as well as the Tower "Centum Cellas", of the 1st to 4th centuries AD, built by the romans, and several vestiges of menhirs and castros (a celtic village). This small town includes the urban area and the walls area, on a plane area above the Côa river, at about an altitude of 750 metres. Shaped like a regular polygon, the walls, strongholds, gates, army houses and pits are a most important fortress, built between the 17th and 18th centuries. Buildings of interest: the castle, the church of Misericórdia, the horse riding area and the hospital.

It has been known as Colonial Garden, later as Overseas Garden and still as Tropical Agricultural Garden. Today it is one of the most pleasant green spaces of Lisbon, with more than 500 species of tropical and subtropical flora in gardens and greenhouses.

Built at the time of the Great Exhibition of the Portuguese World, in 1940, it is characterized by its large lawns. The monuments paying homage to Gago Coutinho and Sacadura Cabral shaped as a hydroplane stand out.

Belvedere located 628 metres height and where you may enjoy a magnificent view of Portalegre.

Located on a hill near the left bank of the Guadiana river, it received privileges from the charter of Évora in the 13th and 14th centuries. The architectural heritage includes the walls (National Monument), the Church of Saint Maria (National Monument), the Church of Saint Francisco (National Monument) and the Palace of the Counts of Ficalho. The Ethnographic Museum and the Clocks Museum are also worth a visit. The craftswork includes the manufacturing of shoes and the sheperd's art and the damed Serpa cheeses are traditional activities.

A village on the border, with granite houses, famed for its monumental oven. This communal oven is made o stone and has walls reinforced by counterforts. On the other side of the Tourém dam it is Spain.

A park located in the central area of the city of Paredes. It is the oldest park in the parish, about one hectare wide. Located near the town hall, it is a peaceful place of conviviality.

Romantic garden from the XIX century with the walkway built over the remains of the Águas Livres walls. It was later covered with Portuguese stone pavement, got a fountain from the Bemposta palace and, in 1904, a monument to Eduardo Coelho, founder of the newspaper Diário de Notícias. Close to the railing, a glazed tiles panel by Fred Kradolfer (1952) subtitles the landscape observed at the belvedere. It has a grove with dense vegetation, flowerbeds and statuary from the Greek-Roman mythology. At the lower section of the garden are French style busts, inspired on “Os lusíadas” and a sports field.
