Escadas do Barredo

This stairs are for adventurers only, as its inclination is sharply sloping. It is a Middle Ages’ area, where the prostitutes used to hang around. Start at the Dom Hugo Street, by the Nossa senhora da verdade Chapel (small 18th century temple) by the Romanic Wall and, right after, by the Arco do Colégio. Then, go strait ahead through the Nossa Senhora da Verdade Street and the Codeçal stairs. Here you’ll find the Nossa Senhora do Patrocínio Church. If you go down the Barredo stairs, you’ll be next to the São Francisco Borja Street, near the most typical area of the city.
