Theatro Circo

It is a modern building, opened in 1990, located between the Jerónimos Monastery and the Tagus River. It started as the seat of the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union, later becoming (1993) a cultural center. The pavilion for temporary exhibitions hosts music, theater and photography shows.

Teatro Aveirense

In 1855-1858 began the construction of the Teatro Aveirense, a project by Araújo e Silva. The building would only be completed in 1878-1881, having been inaugurated by the Dona Maria II Theater Company. In 1912 the animatograph sessions began. Later, in 1947-1949, the space was rebuilt and opened, having been designed by Ernesto Korrodi and Engineer Von Haff. True ex-libris of the city of Aveiro, this room was the stage for a wide range of shows as Ney Matogrosso, Maria Bethânia and Vicente Amigo. It was also the space chosen for the academic soirees of the University of Aveiro.
Centro Interpretativo do Património da Afurada

Housed in an old fish warehouse, the Afurada Heritage Interpretive Center is a space designed to enhance the collective memory of this fishing community. Through permanent and temporary exhibitions related to the village's traditions, such as fishing tools or traditional costumes, it allows visitors to get to know the daily life and culture of this community.

It is the ex-libris of the city. A masterpiece by the Tuscan architect Nicolau Nasoni, the Tower built between 1731 and 1763 is a magnificent carved stonework, 75 meters high. The 240 steps of the spiral staircase lead to a balcony located in the terminal body and from where you can enjoy rewarding views over the city and surroundings.
