A museum located in the Solar da Ponte (Bridge Manor), an 18th century building, that exhibits vestiges of the "castreja" culture (of the Iberians and the Celts), a culture that only eexisted in the northwest of the peninsula. It used to be the house of the family of Francisco Morais Sarmento and now belongs to the Martins Sarmento Society.

The former jail and "Domus Municipalis," one of the oldest and most emblematic buildings in Praça-Forte, now houses memories of the most significant moments in Valença's history. The archaeological remains, a glimpse into the medieval fortification, and the military heyday of Praça-Forte in the 18th century are the highlights of this center.

The church was founded in 1719 and built, as it is now, in 1753 by Inácio de Oliveira Bernardes. The façade is ended with two strong towers. The inside, lined with rich materials, has the tomb of the queen Dona Mariana Vitória, sculpted by Machado de Castro, classified as National monument.

In the Solar building, you can view themed exhibitions about Port Wine, while the space where the old cooperage once stood now houses an auditorium. They organize technical tastings of Port and Douro Wine, as well as "Portos de Honra", lunches, and dinners.

A very rocky beach separated by a small inlet that can be crossed on foot at low tide. The existing restaurants serve typical dishes at high prices. It used to be the private property of the Counts of Castro Guimarães, whose palace now functions as a museum, with direct access to the sand.

Open to the city and with a breathtaking view of the Boulevard of the allies, the Chef proposes you a Portuguese cuisine with a contemporary twist, where the use of local products has a prominent position.

A visit to the Ervamoira Museum will introduce you to the various areas linked to the history of the site and the Douro wine industry: Natural Heritage, Roman and Medieval Archaeological Heritage, Ethnographic Heritage, the history of Casa Ramos Pinto, the Estates and the Viticulture of the Upper Douro. Visits to the Farm and the Ervamoira Museum are organized by appointment and conducted by a guide.

The spontaneous vegetation, manifested in an extensive pine forest, is one of the attractions of this protected site. However, the interest in the place does not end there. At its summit, the chapel of São Bartolomeu, or São Brás, is a place of pilgrimage. Moreover, the legend of the image of Our Lady of Nazaré, intimately linked to the site, is well known in these parts. From an archaeological point of view, the prehistoric hill fort located here is a particularly interesting element to be discovered amidst the landscape.

A privileged place to view the city of Lisbon. The views are amazing from wherever one stands on the walls and one may even use the periscope, located in the Tower of Ulysses, so as to view things in more detail. It is open from 10 am to 4.30 pm.
