The park has around 5 há and a wide green area with the only two windmills that are still functioning in this town. About 800 trees and 2500 bushes of several different species have been planted. The existing paths lead the visitors to several belvederes with river views.

Situated in the Natural Park of Serras de Aire e Candeeiros, approximately 500 meters of altitude, the Belvedere is an excellent vantage point over the lands to the North and West of this mountainous system, being possible to distinguish the Porto de Mós Castle, the monastery of Batalha or the castle of Leiria.

Located just by the "Paços do Concelho", the Basílio Teles Park welcomes various cultural events, namely the "Matosinhos em Jazz" music Festival. It has a bandstand a children's playground.
