The original recipe for "Pastéis de Tentúgal", once known as puff sticks, belonged to the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Natividade (Carmelo de Tentúgal). Later, after the closure of the Convent, the recipe and secret of making this sweet were taught to Dona Maria da Conceição Faria. Since then, production has grown, maintaining the same characteristics of the original recipe. This delicious pastry is today one of the icons of the old town of Tentúgal.

The museum space operates in the building of the former rice husking factory, located between the floodplain and the mangrove swamp. On the ground floor, in the boiler room, a film produced with former workers linked to rice production is shown, and tools are on display. On the other floors are the machinery, such as silos, bagging wheels, rice storage facilities, and rice gauges. On the top floor, there is a room where photographs are exhibited and which is also a space for artistic events, such as exhibitions or shows.

It belongs to the parish of Valada and is one of the few fishing villages of Avieiros, who came from the Vieira de Leiria area, that still maintain their characteristics. The writer Alves Redol, known for writing about the Tagus River and its people, was one of the most famous inhabitants of this typical fishing village. The houses are colorful and made of wood, of the stilt house type, supported on pillars, in order to prevent the occurrence of floods, which normally plague this region in winter.

Castle located on top of a hill, in an area surrounded by the village. The walls were raised by the Arabs and, later, D. Dinis expanded the fortification and D. Manuel ordered its reconstruction. This castle was part of the defensive system of Linhas Torres. Ruined by the 1755 earthquake, it still retains some sections of the wall and the large semi-circular turret that defended the entrance to the former Palace. Inside the wall, in an oval shape, there is a chapel, the citadel that includes the keep and three cisterns.
