It belonged to the Franciscan until 1526 and to the Santo Agostinho Eremites until 1834. In the end of the XVII century and beginning of the XVIII century the convent was rebuilt. From the original plan only stands the Manueline granite portal of the main façade.

Church of Baroque architecture but made on the medieval chapel. Shows insculpidas and walls crosses pilasters. The main altarpiece is Baroque, national framework of transition to the Johannine period. Sports murals depicting scenes from the life of Christ, in the chancel.

This church was built on the 16th century and it was reconstructed after the 1755 earthquake. On the outside it is worth to mention the façade topped by a triangular pediment and finished by a cross. On the inside, the nave is split from the main chapel through a stone triumphal arch.
