On the right bank of the River Douro, and 25 kilometers from Porto, lies the Medes campsite. The topography and flora characteristics in the Douro Valley make this park a peculiar structure, with disposal in terraces and wooded alveoli. The scenic beauty of the region and the River make this space an ideal place for rest and recreation. Enjoy sporting activities to practice yet, such as fishing, tennis or enjoy the scenery through magnificent hiking routes.

A place from where one can view the entire island and some of the islets. During the 16th century a small fortress due to stop the invasions by French and Algerian pirates was built here.

Lighthouse located on the southwestern tip of the island, more specifically on Ponta do Topo. It consists of a 16-meter-high circular tower and annexes housing the lighthouse keeper's quarters and a storage area.

Set of fumaroles located in the center of the island, more specifically inside Caldeira das Furnas. Here you can find around twelve types of water, each with different medicinal properties.

Pond situated on the slopes of the Serra de Santa Bárbara, inside a volcanic cone. This is one of the ponds more virgins and of greater natural beauty of the island. Highlight is the richness of its fauna and flora.

Located near the Douro river, the origins of this village that recived its first charter in 1202 precede the romans. Its name may come from the almonds, being that the almond tree fields are one of the region's main attractions. It has some valuable monuments, namely the mother church, romanesque with 16th century interiors, the 16th century pillory and the manor of the Viscounts of Banho. A visit to the ruins of Calábria, an old village founded between the 3rd and 2nd centuries bC, is also quite worthwhile.

A very old village located on the foothills of the Serra da Estrela, it has a section of Roman road. The main church, known as the Catedral das Beiras, stands out. It is a large temple with gilded carvings, a ceiling with 102 paintings, and liturgical vestments. Nearby, the "Curral dos Romanos," also known as the Dólmen da Sobreda (Property of Public Interest), a curious olive press from the medieval period, in the town of Rio de Mel, and the Penedo da Moura, a natural cave, are worth a visit.

This is a medieval tower with a quadrangular plan, initially part of the estate belonging to the Brandões lineage, which served as a fortified manor house with three floors. It consists only of the ruined structure of the four granite ashlar walls. On the northeast façade, a window extending to its base and corbels where a balcony (a type of wooden structure) would have rested stand out. On the main façade, a round-arched doorway with a lintel stands out. Visits are limited as it is located within the courtyard of a private house.

The Port tonic bar is located in one of the most famous streets of the night from the port, the decor is de Paul Wolf, cocktails, inspired in port wine and music a return to rock and pop of the years 80 and 90. This is how the port Tonic, a bar on rua Cândido dos Reis, where you can sit and chat from the end of the afternoon or dancing on the dance floor, at the end, when the sun goes down.
