In this garden, besides trees and bushes, there’s an archaeological nucleus where one may see part of the primitive pillory of Funchal (beginning of the XVI century), tombstones and an ancient coat of arms of the city. One of the main attractions pf this garden is the collection of exotic orchids. In the centre there are also two Manueline windows from the XVI century. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10h to 12h30 and from 14h to 18h.

Fajã Grande is one of the most touristic places on the island, as well as one of the most populated areas. It is bordered by the astonishing cliff of Rocha da Fajã, a cliff that measures up to 600 meters in height.

This route starts next to the local Empire and follows along the road to Carapacho, ending at the Bay of port Off. In days of good visibility allows you to observe the islands of São Jorge, Pico and Faial.

The Cabeço Gordo is the highest point on the island of Faial, with an elevation of 1043 feet. Natural viewpoint par excellence, in day of clear skies can enjoy the crater of the Caldeira, the Flemings and the bays of the city of Horta.

A shop that sells regional products of São Vicente and globally of the Madeira island. Among the articles, one can find the well known Madeira embroideries that still occupy a part of the daily spare times.

Statue paying homage to the Portuguese navigator from the XV João Gonçalves Zarco, who discovered this island. The work is by the architects Francisco Franco and Cristino da Silva and was built up in the XIX century.

Lighthouse established in 1934 in the southwestern part of the island of Terceira, in the area called Tip of the Contentions. It is a prismatic tower with thirteen feet tall and 54 of altitude in relation to the sea, to which a building annex adossa.

This elevation reaches its highest point at approximately 587 meters and boasts abundant vegetation due to the high rainfall. From its summit, we can enjoy fantastic views of the entire island.

An elevation that belongs to the Mount Brasil, considered the largest volcanic unit on the island and it is an area of great scenic and historical interest. There is a belvedere with privileged views of the Ribeirinha Hill, of Porto Judeu and of the Santa Bárbara Hill.

This is one of the most popular spaces on the island during the bathing season. With some grassy banks, benches and tables for picnics, a friendly restaurant with a terrace, among other facilities, it becomes one of the region's highlights.
