A fortified settlement from the Late Bronze and Iron Ages, upon which a city was built in Roman times. Temples, a commercial area, baths, pavements, and a hippodrome, among other remains, are evident. Of note is the ancient spectacle site, the Roman circus, with a capacity of 25,000 people.

It became known as Torre da Alfândega after the Alfândega (Customhouse) de Guimarães building was created next to it. Visiting this point is almost mandatory for anyone visiting the city for the first time. It is mainly known for the famous inscription "Aqui Nasceu Portugal" (Portugal Was Born Here).

The amusement equipment available are the following: swimming pool for adults, children's pool, snail, Bobsleigh track, Aqualândia, multiple lanes and fast lanes. A restaurant located in the toruistic centre of Carvoeiro, quite near the beach. It has a welcoming atmosphere and a wide variety of dishes, be it for the hot weather days, such as salads, or for the colder ones. It has also children's menus, fast dishes and vegetarian dishes. It has a terrace with views of one of the most touristy streets in Carvoeiro and usually has live music inside.

Spacious and well located, in the Centre of the village of Cascais, divided into four spaces: a friendly bar, right at the entrance; the restaurant in strong colors, on the first floor; a room where they serve salads and light fast food meals; and a pleasant terrace. The kitchen is in charge of the Chief Miguel Magalhães, serving good traditional Portuguese cuisine with a touch of innovation.

Circular castle facing the Tagus River, built in 1194 by Sir Afonso Pais and rebuilt in 1390 by Sir Nuno Álvares Pereira. It maintains the walls of the wall, partly battlemented and with traces of turrets. The entrance door was built in the 15th century and has a round arch. Inside the castle is the chapel of São Brás, which features a pleasant 17th century altarpiece. Belver Castle was the starting point for several actions against the Moors, and also served as support for King João I during the War of Independence.
