It was inaugurated in 2005 on the site where the old Cine-Teatro Ribatejo operated for half a century, closing in 1988. The building features contemporary architecture, with a predominantly glass facade, and aims to be a diverse space offering cultural events. In this Museum are exposed various materials from the municipality of Monforte, mostly Roman, collected during the excavations in the Roman villa of Torre de Palma. All objects found are grouped by categories like "Roman Necropolis", "Roman coins", "Agriculture and construction Material," "costume" and "weaving and kitchen and table". Highlight is some stucco paintings (on the site of the altar mor), and some carved granite columns. Are classified as Property in the public interest.
