Modern stadium opened on October, 25th, 2003, built for the practice of football. It has 65 thousand seats. The new “cathedral” of Benfica, stage of the EURO 2004, replaces the mythic Luz stadium and its famous third ring. The stadium was planed by the company Hok Sports and contemplates a relevant leisure area, from which the commercial and health clubs areas stand out.

This sculpture of King Dom Afonso Henriques, situated at one end of the Largo João Franco, soon after entering through the gates of the village, was opened in 2001 in the commemorations of the day 24 June municipal holiday in the city of Guimarães. To carry out this work, the author João Cutileiro was inspired by the books of primary statement of the 1940, where the first King of Portugal was represented with an amount.

Dedicated to Saint Salvador, the parish church of Santa Cruz resulted from the recovery of the Capela das Almas, from the 17th century, which had already been based on another construction from the beginning of the 16th century, following the 1748 earthquake. It presents influences from the mendicant Gothic and, inside, the baroque and neoclassical gilded altarpieces and traces of paintings on the pillars stand out.

The church was built in the 16th century and later expanded and restored in the 18th century. This reconstruction was necessary due to the devastation caused by the earthquake known as Mandado de Deus (Mandate of God). The majestic façade features a portal, three large windows, and two oculus windows, not to mention the bell tower, atypical for the island's architecture. Inside, the gilded carvings and numerous paintings stand out.

16th century church ordered to be built by the monarch King Manuel I. Temple with three naves where the gilded altars and tiles from the Lisbon School stand out inside. There are also some traces of Spanish-Moorish tiles from the 16th century. The bell tower was built later, in the 17th century. Some of the assets were stolen during the French Invasions.

This is a church within the rural type in which stands out, on the main façade, the Manueline doorway in full arch framed by conic shaft. On the sides there is a shed with Tuscan columns. The inside has one only nave and it is covered with seventeen hundreds glazed tiles with scenes from Christ’s life. It is also worthy to mention the altar in baroque carving, the baptismal font and the painted ceilings.

The Romanic church was built on the 12th century even though there are some doubts about the fact that this church used to be part of the Benedictine Convent, founded by S. Frutuoso on the 6th century. It stands out the doorway with two archivolts deeply decorated and the occidental doorway, very simple with the tympanum with a cross and laces, inspired on the bracarense (from Braga) art from the end of the 12th centuries.

This church has one only nave with a high choir, main chapel and lateral chapel. It was integrated on a Franciscan Monastery from which it is kept the porch with three arches. The portico holds the Renaissance outline as well as the funerary chapel from D. Francisco Coutinho. On the inside stands out the fifteen hundreds paintings and the ceiling covered with coffers. Next to the main chapel there is a defensive tower.

São João de Alporão church is a temple from the 12th century and it appeared under the political – religious fight contexts during the Christian Reconquest. This is a singular temple by the way it associates the Gothic style and the Romanic style. On the interior it stands out the fourteen hundreds tombstone from Dom Duarte de Menezes. Nowadays the church is open to the public as a Museum for Temporary Exhibitions.
Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Bouro

Although the conventual part is in ruins, the church, rebuilt in the 18th century, presents a harmonious façade dominated by five sculptures representing the four evangelists and Saint Louis. Inside, the gilded altarpiece and the Joanine sacristy stand out with paneled and painted ceilings, and walls covered in historic tiles. The cloister is made up of seven sections of arcades with Tuscan columns. It is currently adapted as a guesthouse.
