In the Alto Douro, Altamira, built in the 19th century, is a good starting point from which to explore the famous wines of the region, without forgetting its gastronomy. From your balcony, views over the Douro River are breathtaking.

Very long beach, located in a large holiday center. Much of the beach is frequented by tourists, while the other side is home to artisanal fishing. Good quality restaurants, specializing in seafood. Bars located on the sand with a lively nightlife.

Beach divided by an area of basalt pebbles and another with yellow sand, with good conditions for bathing and sunbathing. It has a swimming pool, areas for football and beach volleyball, pedal boats and jet skis, sun loungers and umbrellas for hire.

Praia de areal spacious but cozy. Access is a bit meandering, given the narrowing of the road, but will compensate, given the good conditions of the beach. Nearby are the remains of the Castro de s. Paio, duly marked, and the Church with the same name.

The door of this restaurant you can see the dock where it's coming from a lot of fish here if you SIP. The King of grilled sardines is a simple and unpretentious space, serve good fish dishes and other traditional suggestions.

Already award-winning restaurant, located on the river beach of Corga Pit, presenting typical dishes of the region, where I couldn't miss the tripe and the chanfana, but the letter is full of good alternatives, including in section of fish and desserts.

A high level inn with a large dining room, with panoramic views, sometimes used for banquets, and yet another, smaller room. It has a fine service and delicious regional Trás-os-Montes dishes. Good wine list.

Rustic and cosy restaurant, consisting of two rooms-one for smokers and one for non-smokers-and a nice terrace. His specialties are the grills and regional food. Good wine list to follow. Serves dinner only on Fridays and Saturdays.

Spacious and welcoming, with a green exterior space which gives the tone for a quiet meal. In the dining room, with modern decor in shades of white and green and with wide glass walls to let in the light, they serve good traditional Portuguese dishes.

Rustic restaurant housed in an old cabin, where the fishermen kept the Sargasso. The fish and seafood dishes, very well made, are the specialties of the House. If you are fond of fish, you can indulge yourself with good grilled meats.
