The hillfort is located midway up the slopes of the Serra da Arada, covering an area of ​​over seven hectares and rising 610 meters above sea level. Carvings of the basic rock art typology of the Northwest Peninsula were discovered, concluding that it was inhabited between the 7th century BC and the 4th century AD. Remains of over 25 houses with circular, oval, and rectangular plans remain. The settlement was defended by a triple wall with a perimeter of 660 meters.

Small museum where you can observe some objects collected in the ruins of the Roman Villa of Rabaçal, including a milestone to Décio (mile VIII from Conímbriga) from the village of Tamazinhos, Cantanhede, and requires a guided tour of the ruins that make up the agricultural farm consisting of the rustic villa, frumentaria and urban villa, dating from the 4th century AD. Highlight is the permanent exhibition "Roman villa of Rabaçal: once upon a time...".

The calm waters of the great Lake invite you to a stay in a houseboat, having at your disposal five different types of boats, with a capacity for up to twelve people. Offers all the comforts for a stay in full, since full kitchen with stove, drinking water supply, shower, bathrooms, dining room, barbecue, radio and television. Sailor's letter is not required, since it offers location-specific equipment and safety: Plotter, GPS and •vertical scanning Probe.

This Monument is composed by a church and by the former College from the Society of Jesus. The church is composed by a nave, four altarpieces chapels, low and straight main chapel and sacristy. On the inside it is worth to mention the main chapel, covered up in golden carving besides an inside filled with many beautiful and rich elements. The part which concerns the College is spread in two floors through four wings involving a yard which is the only remain part from the structure.

Even though it was initially destined to become a nuns convent, it ended up as the collge of the priests of the Companhia de Jesus at the time it was finished. In 1766 the Diocesano Seminar was established here and made enlargement works. Of this monument the most elaborated window, of 1749, a large window of 1685 and the tower, of 1930, stand out. Inside, a special note to the three domes with crosswork arches and the corbels, on the ceiling, the high altar, the choir, the cloister and the sacristy, for the painted panels on the ceiling.

All the preserved villages at Armamar are part of a recovery project of the Rural Centre of São Martinho das Chãs. The village of São Martinho das Chãs is quite well recovered, both regarding the houses and the streets, with a perfect preservation of its rustic traits. In the village, one may visit the 13th century church, the Mother Church. From the campanile one has the most beautiful views.

A circular pedestrian trail where one may visit the Fraga do Cucu, that brings to mind the image of a bird standing on a rock, the Cortelhos bridge, the alto das Barreiras, where the population took refug during the French invasions. It also passes by a unique nature built place, where the rocks sculpt curious ffects on the water. It is recommended that one takes this trail in the springtime of in the fall.

This street that was, for a long time, the goldsmith street, was built in the XVI century, by order of the King Dom Manuel I. Nowadays this street is worthy of a visit not because of the goldsmith's shops windows but because of the buildings that keep the characteristics of other times, namely the iron balconies. It is on this street that you’ll find the Misericóridia Church, dated from the XVI century and rebuilt from 1748 on, according to Nicolau Nasoni’s proposal.

Some say it's more charming in winter because of the added beauty the snow provides, but there are plenty of reasons to visit during the warmer months as well. Starting with the protected area of ​​the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, with its rich fauna and flora, and ending at Torre, the highest point in mainland Portugal. There's much to explore on foot or by car. Another unmissable highlight is Serra da Estrela cheese.

Pousada simple and familiar, especially targeted to the younger ones, in the mining village of Cabeço do Pião. The House was built in 1934, running as a mess hall, where dozens of employees of mines. Offers four bedrooms, kitchen, lounge and toy library. From here, you can visit the old mines would wash the Panasqueira, some villages of shale and the Paleolithic cave figures do Zêzere.
