Evocative monument of the Treaty of Tagilde, signed between the Portuguese King d. Fernando and the Duke of Lancaster, on July 10, 1372. This is the world's oldest military alliance that lingers in the world.

This obelisks coming from the Quinta da Prelada are two XVIII century works, made by Nicolau Nasoni. They were later associated with the entrance of the D. Pedro’s troops in the city.

The museum is housed in the Convent of Our Lady of the Conception, founded in 1459 by the Infantes D. Fernando and D. Brites. Highlights include the 17th-century Portuguese tiles, the 16th-century Sevillian tiles, and the Baroque vault of the Chapter Room. Also, noteworthy are the paintings produced in Portugal, Spain, and Holland between the 15th and 18th centuries, the Roman section, and the collection of large classical capitals from the Forum of the Ancient Pax Julia (Roman Beja).

This beautiful renaissant monument, by João de Ruão, was ordered by D. João III. It presents a central fountain with a dome and, around it, 4 cylindrical chapels. All the structure is built on a tank.

Installed on the ground floor of the Castle citadel, it presents a collection consisting of objects collected in excavations carried out in the area. It includes a nucleus of the ancient archeology collection of King D. Luís.

Temporary exhibitions hall located in the Ajuda National Palace. The theme is, usually, the history of art. It was created in 1869 by d. Luís I and closed in 1876. In the 20th century reopened in 1988.

Built during D. João IV’s reign to defend the fishing centre of Burgau, this fort is now in a bad state of ruins. Traces of the original defensive walls can still be seen.

Tower attached to the Church of Santa Maria dos Olivais, rectangular plant consisting of two floors. Initially had the function of atalaia, but Bell was adapted in the time of d. Manuel I.
