Traces of a strong military architecture, 17th century, bastions in clod of polygonal plant, with outer moat and covered path. Is one of the strong in "architecture of the Earth" still subsisting in Portugal, being totally built in clod (mixture of Earth, clay, pebbles and stone uvula), without any trace of masonry. Featured ample dimensions, with tents to barracks, stables and warehouses, and can accommodate 2000 infants and 500 horses. Currently covered by pine forest

Hidden from the city of Horta by Monte Queimado, Porto Pim Beach has soft, black sand, very typical of these volcanic islands. The bay of Porto Pim is, without a doubt, a place of rare beauty. Monte da Guia and the aforementioned Monte Queimado constitute natural barriers to the entry of sea water, making these waters calm and deep blue. Its green spaces and fortification, make that bathers consider it the best beach on the island.

The convent was founded by Justa Rodrigues Pereira, wet nurse of King Manuel I, in 1490, during the reign of King John II. This monarch, who visited the construction the following year, decided to expand the initial project. He entrusted the construction to Diogo Boitaca, the first architect of the Jerónimos Monastery, who carried out his first work in the country here. The convent has a beautiful portal and Manueline windows. A landscape and cultural walk that lasts about two and a half hours. It is a small trail albeit with some declivities. Ideal for observing a group of 13 water mills, the grey herons that have their nests here, viewing the banks of the Sousa river and, with due precautions, swimming.

The Sun and fishing results from the conversion of a tackle shop in Portuguese jam-tasting of fish and drinks. With casual and relaxed, the space is decorated with all sorts of fishing accessories. Who comes here, hardly resist the taste of canned sardines, among other tidbits.

Mannerist building of rectangular plan, with three floors and homogeneous coverage in roof of three waters. It was built in the 17th century to serve as housing to the counts of Vila Real. Between 1970 and 1976 was here installed the Mocidade Portuguesa, at which point it was purchased by the current owners.

Neoclassical House with main façade with three structured cloths by pilasters, built in the mid-nineteenth century by Martins Sarmento family. In the 20th century, worked here the town hall for a few years, after being donated to the University of Minho, there lay a Cultural Unit.
