Although the location of the famous Battle of Ourique is not agreed upon by all historians, many point to the "Campo de Ourique" as the likely site of the battle between Christians and Moors. The church remains from the monastic complex, which retains interesting architectural features. A rectangular, two-story Baroque house, of the ecclesiastical palace type used for recreation. The farm and palace were founded by D. Rodrigo de Moura Teles, a notable figure in the Catholic Church, in the 18th century. Currently, it houses the President's Office, the City Council, the main hall, and the municipal auditorium.

As the Memorial of the Hermitage, this monument from the 13th century have been a stopping point on the way of transfer of the body of d. Mafalda for the monastery of Arouca. Consists of two horizontal slabs placed at two levels. Are connected by two vertical blocks in the form of funerary stele, with ornate circular trim crosses.

It was built during D. Manuel Kingdom and it is composed by a platform with four steps, base, pedestal, square monolithic shaft and square capital. The finishing is in sphere cup decorated on the two hemispheres with vegan symbols and the crowning is with vegan conic ball. IT is made of marble and it has around eight metres high.

Work ordered to be built by King Afonso V, almost at the end of his reign. It is assumed that it was completed in 1481, as this was a work that was extremely contested by the people, given the determination of a collection applied to Évora's wines. However, the work was completed during the reign of D. Manuel II, as can be seen in the vault on the second floor.
