This shop is at the Aveiro Centre and sells typical handicraft not only from Aveiro but also from other regions such as Madeira.

This is a Mannerist convent with a church in the shape of a Latin cross, a single nave, and a two-story cloister. Due to its characteristics, it fits into the typology of the monumental 17th-century churches of classicist and erudite style in the Porto region. The tilework in the chancel and transept is also from the 17th century, and the main altarpiece is Baroque, in the National Style, with Baroque side altarpieces from the time of King Pedro II, at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. Fort located at the foot of Serra da Arrábida. Its tower is dated from 1390. In 1572 it suffered enlarging works and was completely remodelled after the Restoration War. The chapel, covered with glazed tiles from the XVIII century, is worthy of notice. In the XIX century it was a prison and later the holydays residence of King D.Carlos and Queen D. Amélia. In 1909; it became a hospital for orthopaedic diseases and maintains its function until today.

An imposing neo-manuelin (from a style created by the king Dom Manuel I at the times of the sea discoveries) mannor. One should pay close attention to the ashlar frames, to the neo-manuelin jagged battlements, to the horseshoe shaped arches and to the neo-arab tiles.
