Roman altar found in October 1969, when opening the road 508, in the axis of via. Placed on the north side of Rossio, the National Theatre Dona Maria II, which name pays homage to the daughter of Dom Pedro, was built in the 1840s by the Italian architect Fortunato Lodi. The façade of this neoclassic building is composed by six columns coming from the São Francisco Convent and is ended by a triangular fronton where the figures of Apollo and the Muses are sculpted. On top of the fronton is possible to see the statue of Gil Vicente, maybe the most important Portuguese dramaturge of all times, considered to be the father of the national theatre.

The milestone, one of the testimonies of the Antiquities of Oliveira de Azeméis, was found during the demolition of the Church of Ul, in the late 18th century. Although founded in the 11th century, the Romanesque building of this church only took place in the 13th and 14th centuries, when Gothic-inspired elements were also introduced, later suffering an extension to three naves and renovations in the 17th and 19th centuries. The portico with four archivolts retains its original features. The interior, whose appearance is the result of the reconstructions it underwent, is partially lined with 17th-century tiles. It is worth admiring the Romanesque portico, the three naves supported by powerful columns and the gilded statues.

Convent founded in the 12th century by Queen Dona Mafalda, wife of Dom Afonso Henriques. The monastery owes its current appearance to the reconstruction that took place in the 16th century. The vault of the chancel and the cloister covered with tiles from the 18th century date from this time. The interior follows rococo and neoclassical styles. Note the choir, pulpit, organ and rococo carvings decorated with angels and mythological figures. In 1951, a fire damaged the convent part, which was restored and turned into a Pousada.

This large, religious-style architecture is an example of one of the most symbolic Baroque monuments of the reign of King João V, built in 1753. The church we see today replaced a chapel. Among other notable features are the tiles from the second half of the late 18th century that decorate the walls; inside, the two marble altars of various hues are another highlight. The week-long pilgrimage to the Lord Jesus of Mercy takes place every year around September 20th.
