A small library, mostly aimed to the children and the youngsters.

The Library occupies the most noble and vast of all the rooms in the National Palace of Mafra. It is one of the most important European libraries, with a collection of about 36,000 volumes, from the 15th to the 19th century, covering diverse topics such as Religion, History, Geography, Medicine and Art, among others. The rich collection includes rare works from the 15th century, several Bibles or the first Encyclopedia. Also, noteworthy is a set of about a thousand banned books.

The place is composed of the municipal auditorium, the library and the free internet area for those who live in the parish.

This building from 1965 was once the Municipal Library. The original plan is from Fernando Távora, being the work in the first floor planned by Diamantina Galacho.

The building of the Municipal Library of Porto was the former convent of Santo António dos Capuchos. Is a building from the late 18th century, has many inner courtyards. Was adapted to the library for Dom Pedro IV. The interior is decorated by ceramic tiles of several convents of invicta and surroundings.
