The Sanctuary of São Bento das Pêras, located atop the hill of the same name, at an altitude of 410 meters, is a pilgrimage site for thousands of believers. The religious festival honoring this patron saint of Vizela takes place on July 11th, with a procession and an open-air mass. It is a pleasant gathering place for the masses. Some also visit the site simply to enjoy the magnificent panoramic views of the Vizela River valley.

This chapel is linked to the popular cult and suffered many reconstructions, so the exact date of its establishment is unknown.
