The building of the Municipal Library of Caminha dates back to the 18th century and was once a courtroom and a prison. In 1989 it became a cultural space, comprising the library and the Municipal Museum.

Legend has it that whoever dips their finger into this spring will be forever "prisoned" by Vizela. Deep underground in the city, the sulfurous waters that spring from this small fountain spring.
