Fortified village that had at least five lines of walls. In excavations carried out in this town were laid bare some cores with circular and rectangular constructions, floors, walls of rooms, walls, late-Romanesque and Ceramic grinding wheels of manual Mills, among other vestiges. It is also known as Castro da Cividade.

Of this set of 18th-century curtain walls and bastions, the bastions of the main church and Santo Antônio church, the Graça wall, and the Clock Tower stand out. The rectangular tower features a small terrace where the bell tower rests. Above the arch of the gate, which once defended the town, is an image of Our Lady of the Conception.

Franciscan convent founded in 1603 by Leonardo de Campos and follows the typology of this type of convent. For this reason and the interior treasures it contains, it is given great heritage value. Inside, the tiles with a 17th century pattern stand out, as well as the altarpieces and tombstones from the end of the 18th century. It currently operates as a mercy hospital and pharmacy.

At the core of the Holy Martyr, in the Church of the Holy Martyr Saint Sebastian, in Vila Franca de Xira lies the exhibition "art and Devotion-Forms and Perspectives", dedicated to sacred art. This exhibition, based on the concept of annual turnover of parts, enables the public to the enjoyment of a diversity of remaining goods that would otherwise be out of the public domain.

Bastioned fortress built at the end of the 17th century and beginning of the 18th century by Dom Pedro II. It was part of the defensive plan of the Portuguese coast and aimed to protect the entrance to the Cávado River. It has a rectangular plan and at each angle there is a bastion and a guardhouse. Between the walls, which are quite ruined, the Lighthouse Tower stands out.

Church of three aisles separated by arches broke and frontispiece to sing, featuring a central body crowned by balustrade, located between two bell towers. The Mannerist and Baroque building, is of great magnificence, a result of the profound renovation works carried out in the 17th and 18th century. Inside, the piece of appreciable, particularly in carved chancel.

Built in 1617, it underwent modifications in the 18th century. On the main facade there are three windows, the sides being blind and the central one open, with a grille, topped by a panel of blue and white tiles depicting Saint Anthony. The pediment is cut out, with two small bell towers on the sides. The interior is of a nave, with the main altar in marble.

The Nossa Senhora da Apresentação church is from 1606, being placed, at this time, the baptistery. In the end of the XVII century, beginning of the XVIII century, the façade is decorated with two azulejos panels and the inside is all dressed with golden woodcarving, standing out a gothic virgin, in alabaster. It suffered repair works already in the XX century.

This Manor house was built in 1649 and remodeled in 1732. It has baroque outline with rectangular plan and two floors. On the main floor it stands out the seventeen hundreds decoration with paintings and the ceiling. The house is surrounded by a typical Portuguese garden with different interesting motifs, such as the houses for agricultural purposes, the watering systems, the waterwheel, the lakes and the tanks.

This is a Renaissance sculpture ensemble where one can point out the Passion of the Christ symbols sided by the figures of São João and Maria Madalena supported over a tomblike arch. Some authors defend that the silhouette figures initially didn´t make part of the ensemble integrating a primitive sculptures altarpiece from the church.
