It was in 1990 that the Chamber of Sousel acquired the Collection of images of Christ from the heirs of Venceslau Lobo, a former antiques dealer. This antiquarian collection has around 1500 pieces, mostly crucifixes.

Built in the 15th century, it underwent changes later, currently presenting a quadrangular building with two extensions for the chancel and sacristy. Inside, the nave is entirely covered in 18th century tiles.

Temple of Renaissance and Baroque architecture, built between the 16th and 18th centuries. Plan with three naves, two sacristies, baptistery and bell tower. The side altars in the transept are gilded and the chancel with altar is also gilded.

Although it is thought that this town, located on the bank of the River Soure, dates back to pre-Romanesque times, only Roman remains have been found in the region. In the XIV century it was already a very populated town, having been granted a new charter in 1513 by Dom Manuel I. In fact, Vila Nova de Anços would only cease to be the county seat in the 19th century (1836).
