Water is the source of life. This space is also subject of scientific character, playful and didactic. This multi-functional space science and technology presents interactive exhibitions in several spaces of the building. Offers library, Mini Lab, Auditorium and aquariums. The refurbishment of the building actually honorable mention earned by the jury of the Prix Alexandre Herculano Architecture National. Is a much visited by students, since they have a varied set of proposals for an experimental approach, and creative science, plastic providing children and young people to acquire new knowledge in different areas of science.

The current Palace, with an exotic Oriental plan, was built from an 18th century building that imitated a medieval castle. A possession of the Mello e Castro family, it was rented to Gerard DeVisme at the end of the 18th century, who bulit a neogothic manor. In 1856 it was acquired by Francis Cook, who built a new Oriental palace, with revivalist motifs, a true testimony to the romantic architecture. He also ordered the plantation of the Moserrate Park, that combines exotic and local plants, currently an important botanical museum. Nowadays, one may only visit the gardens.

Palace built by Councillor José Victorino Zuzarte Coelho da Silveira, with interior decoration highly sponsored by owner José Maria Silveira Menezes, in the second half of the 19th century. Here were the illustrious figures dinner as d. Fernando and d. Augusto, after a visit to the battlefield of Montes Claros. Here also lived the poet Humberto da Silveira Fernandes region. Today is a building of guardianship of the Holy House of mercy, rich interior, which includes furniture, tapestries, and decorative arts of 800.

The rocks of the Coastline from Oporto are the oldest which outcrop in Portugal and constitute a geological heritage of high scientific interest-didactic, the Metamorphic Complex of Foz do Douro, classified as Municipal Natural Heritage. In April 2005 was created a thematic route for dissemination of this designated heritage by "Geological Tour of Foz do Douro", signaled with nine panels of information addressed to the general public. The Macrobiotic Centre of Braga's restaurant, an institution dedicated to personal development, proposes balanced menus made with ingredients of plant origin with quality and mostly come from organic farming. In addition to the restaurant, you can visit the grocery store and organic vegetables, cosmetics and a bookstore. The Center also offers massage services, organizes lectures, courses and workshops and consultations of family counselling. You can also take advantage of room for consultation of the library, as well as for meetings, lunches, special dinners and enjoy the bamboos garden terrace.

Access to this fajã, located between Fajã do Cruzal and Fajã da Saramagueira, through a difficult path for Canada to Sao Tome. Despite the necessary caution not to slip, don't forget to enjoy the superb views. The vine is the main culture of this fajã having here existed, inclusive, eight wineries. Currently, is almost completely abandoned.

The trail begins in the village of Sobral Fernando, is 6.5 km long, lasts 2 hours, and is of medium difficulty. It will be difficult to ignore the scenic beauty this trail offers. Its main points of interest are the Foz do Cobrão Reservoir, Mourão Valley (with a mandatory stop at the viewpoint overlooking this valley), and the Portas do Almourão. It ends in Carregais.

A long pedestrian trail, 13.5 km long, that lasts about five hours. During the walk, one passes by places where the milho-miúdo (a kind of corn), the main ingredient of the typical and exquiste "papas de coura", is sown. Enjoy the natural beauty and, from the Travanca landmark, at an altitude of 701 metres, the astounding landscape.

Conceived by entrepreneur João D’Oliva Monteiro and built by Korrodi architects, the Alcobaça Cinema-Theatre was inaugurated in 1944, and has since been a landmark not only in the cultural field but also in architecture. Currently, it has a main hall with a capacity of 315 people and an auditorium with 64 seats. It is frequently the venue for shows from different cultural areas.

From the convent set of Our Lady of the Conception, you have now ascended to the church, which is believed to have been rebuilt in the 18th century. Notable features include the altarpieces decorating the main altar and the side altars, the walls of the chancel covered with 18th-century tiles of Coimbra origin, and the stone images found in the choir.
