Overlooking the city of Horta, Monte Carneiro is a volcanic cone and a natural viewpoint par excellence. From the top of its 267 meters above sea level you can see the entire city of Horta, including marina and the zone of Porto Pim, the Flemish Valley and the island of Pico. A landscape of rare beauty that makes the delights of any professional or amateur photographer.

It is the largest urban park in the country, with an area of 83 hectares that extends to the sea. Designed by the architect Sidónio Pardal, it is an open space with water mirrors, lawns, small woods and about 10 km of paths. It has excellent conditions for the practice of sports or, simply, for walking in contact with Nature. In the park, you can also visit the Water Pavilion and the Sea Life aquarium.

It is known locally as "praça" (square) and is a building, inaugurated in 1947, that occupies a vast area, very close to the city center. There you can find fresh products such as fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, bread, and food establishments. The headquarters of the Association of Portuguese Wine Municipalities is located in its tower, and on one of its sides there is a very pleasant spot, the Duck Pond.

Built on a hill overlooking the river, human occupation of this area dates back to the Iron Age. It allowed control of the river port that connected it to the sea and protected the population from enemy attacks. A vast walled area, two towers reinforce its defenses. From its walls, one can see the plain and the series of hills leading to Monte Clérigo beach.

A castle built during the Romanesque period, it features elements characteristic of the period's military architecture, such as the keep crowned by battlements and a patrol path. Both its location within the territory and various documentary sources attest to its existence during this period. It is closely linked to the nearby Monastery of São Bento de Arnoia, where some Romanesque remains can be found.

Castle where you can find traces from the Bronze end to the late Roman era. Considered one of the most important and powerful fortresses of medieval times, consists of three lines of walls (probably from the iron age) surrounding the town, and inside the main enclosure by a medieval castle donjon, with traces of walls, remains, perhaps, the town mayor.

Castro dating from the Iron Age, located on a cliff above the Douro River, a difficult-to-access location, chosen because it has good natural defenses. The defenses were reinforced with a field of set stones, a moat, a turret and a line of walls. Here you can find rare fauna, from the Bonelli eagle, to the black stork and the Egyptian vulture.

Seventeenth-century House, with residential architecture, which features irregular L-shaped plant. The entry is made by yard. The second floor is 19th in wood and taipa. The reconstruction of this House was built in the 17th century. The main Division is the inscription with the date 1622 surrounded by inscriptions with human figures. You can see the ancient animal feed sinks and an oven in ruins on the terrace.

Being the Club home to the Central Office, Holmes Place counts with 4,500 m2 area spread over three floors, a modern gym prepared for cardiovascular and weight training activities, plenty of natural light, and is also thought to the smallest. These can take advantage of activities for children, the Kids Place and the Shokk Gym for children aged 8 to 16 years.
