A building located in the city center, with neoclassical features. The facade is covered in beautiful yellow tiles, except for the entrance which is rusticated with columns. There are two arbors attached to the property wall. Inside the building, there are two symmetrical ponds, from which a fountain flows. The building has similar floors, marked by enormous windows framed in granite, whose upper line follows the triangular pediment that, in line with the roofs, marks the main entrance and finishes off the balustrade.

According to legend, it was the birthplace of Viriato, the famous Portuguese leader. It is also the birthplace of Aristides Sousa Mendes, the Portuguese consul in Bordeaux, who saved thousands of Jews during World War II. Remains of importante houses can be seen here. Classified as a national monument, it is one of the ex-libris of the city and one of the most original examples of the Baroque style in Portugal, having been built at the behest of D. João de Mendonça, Bishop of Guarda, around 1720.
