This hill comprises a part of the municipalities of Arronches, Castelo de Vide, Marvão and Portalegre. It is quite varied in geological terms, with diverse vegetation and a quite varied fauna. There are also many historical vestiges from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages. It is the highest massif to the south of the Tagus river, with an area of 31750 hectares.

When you get to the mouth, the big Ria de Aveiro, the Vouga River spreads in fairways (being that some get into the city itself). Behind are 150 km, since the Serra da Lapa, and several contributions to thicken the flow, the last of them quite close to the mouth – the Águeda River.

The Tasca da Alice, Mondim de Basto, has the client cod pataniscas, salad, sausage, chouriça moura and sausage and specialty: cod omelette. Lunches and dinners in Tasca da Alice only per order but the snacks are served at any time of the day and all paid only in cash.

The proximity of the water table of the Lagoa de Albufeira provides a refreshing view while having your meal. The gastronomic specialities are the stew and the iroses stew, mussels and clams and various kinds of fresh fish (without forgetting the horse mackerel and sardines at the time). For dessert there's pudding and homemade rice pudding.

The purpose of the Municipal Museum is to establish itself as an interpretive center for the municipality of Paços de Ferreira, from its origins to the contemporary era. It has a strong component in the furniture sector, essentially school furniture. It also features woodworking tools and a giant chair made of wood to highlight this capital of furniture.

This Renaissance church was founded by Dom Pedro de Menezes in 1528. It has a unique facade, where the gable slopes symmetrically down to the pillars, opening into two arches. Of particular note are the carved stonework, the star-vaulted ceiling of the chancel, the early 17th-century tiles, the pulpit, and the wooden balcony.

Built between the 17th and 18th centuries in the traditional Madeiran civil style, this house was the birthplace of Dr. Horácio Bento de Gouveia. It was adapted into a House-Museum in 1986, where you can find objects related to the professional life of this Madeiran writer, journalist, and professor, as well as antique pieces.
