Nascido em 1829, nas províncias vascongadas, Bulhão Pato foi escritor, poeta e político. Muito conhecido pelas receitas que criou, entre os quais os afamados pratos de conquilhas, lebre, perdiz e cherne, acabou eternamente ligado a uma homenagem de um outro cozinheiro, João da Mata, com as "amêijoas à Bulhão Pato".

Full of green pastures and forests, the village/parish of Gradiz, in the council of Aguiar da Beira, has about 200 inhabitants, mostly farmers, cattle raisers, construction workers, resin collectors and bread makers. The Oporto Excentric Hostel is a space themed with a unique concept: customized rooms and decorated with various points of interest in the city, such as the Serralves Foundation, the Casa da Música, the Park of the city, the São Bento Station, the Café Majestic, among others. It is located in the Centre of Porto, near the City Park and the beach, with good access to the metro and bus. In the same space, in addition to the hostel, there is also the design agency Inez Borges and a store.

The bases of the defensive system were built between the 8th and 13th centuries, during Muslim rule. The primitive Moorish fortification later underwent improvement works after the Christian Reconquest, ordered by King Dom Dinis. Currently, you can still see some parts of the wall, the Arco da Misericórdia and a part of the Alcáçova that maintains its medieval characteristics. Inside the walls, the beautiful garden stands out.

This Gothic building has undergone several modifications over time and, therefore, has Romanesque, Gothic, Manueline, Mannerist, Renaissance, Baroque and modern features. On the main façade are visible images of Saint Mark, Saint Luke, Saint John, Saint Matthew, Saint Teotónio and Nossa Senhora da Assunção. Highlight for the choir stalls, the 18th century gilded carvings, the 16th and 18th century cloister and the tomb chapels.

The dam consists of a plant with rectilinear wall 3 meters high and a thickness of the same dimension, with buttresses. Although initially have about 50 metres long, currently retains only a section of the dam about 40 meters long and 6 buttresses. About 100 metres downstream, the archaeologist Estácio da Veiga excavated a set of graves, a village and a possible Temple. Are classified as Property in the public interest.
